SEBI (In Hindi: Bhartiya Pratibhuti Aur Vinimay Board - भारतीय प्रतिभूति और विनिमय बोर्ड) is the government regulator for securities market in India which is headquartered at Mumbai. SEBI was established by Government of India in 1988. It has its branch offices in Ahmedabad, New Delhi, Chennai and Kolkata. Its main responsibility is to protect rights of investors and regulate issuers securities and market intermediaries in the market.
